This is true. Society places a big emphasis on the role of science and education in society. However, I believe there are other roles and responsibilities outside of these two that are far more important.
Science is important, yes, but I believe it is far more important to be educated about our environment and our society. There are many other things that we need to be educated about. For example, a person who wants to be a doctor, they need to take classes in biology, chemistry, physics, and so on. And these classes are free. Everyone should be encouraged to take these classes.
I feel that education is also important because education is the best way to make a person more aware of what their priorities and values are. For example, a person who wants to be a musician, they need to know what music is, and what makes it great.
Education is also important because you get to be as informed about things as you are. People tend to be educated because they’re taught to be educated. People tend to grow up and live in a society that places a lot of emphasis on education because most people are educated. You can’t go wrong by being educated.
By putting a lot of emphasis on education, we actually do make people educated. We teach people to read, write, and speak as we would expect people to speak, write, and read. While people can get a great education without knowing about science, science is a necessary part of education. Science is what lets you know the difference between a good idea and a bad idea. When you know what the difference is between the two, you’ll make up your own mind.
We are putting education in the forefront of our minds, so people make the best of it. People who think they don’t need it, but actually end up being the ones making the most of it. We teach people to think for themselves. The internet and social media are great for education, but they don’t stop people from being educated. It’s because of the internet that we are able to educate people through the power of the internet.
The fact that we are placing education as the highest priority in our society is a huge problem. It means that there is very little time allotted for people to think about what they actually want to do. People are so preoccupied with trying to get their “dream job” that they are often unable to think about anything else. So instead of being able to focus on what they want to do, they end up doing something that makes them feel bad about themselves.
It seems that society is slowly, but surely, coming to the end of the era in which we believe education is valued, and it’s time to start to rethink the way we value education. We need to give education a new purpose and recognize that education takes many forms.
Education is such a broad term, but the best way to think about it is as a continuum. We’re constantly getting education in a myriad of forms, from school, to college, to grad school, to graduate school, to continuing education. Some of it is actually very valuable, like the education that students receive in law school, but a lot of it is just useless crap that no one needs.
We need to give education a purpose, and we need to start recognizing that education takes many forms. Education takes many forms and should be recognized for its many purposes.
