The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
It’s true, our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions do carry us through our lives so we do have to stop and think about them every time we do it. Even when they don’t seem to be really affecting us, they still cause us to stop and think about them.
The problem is when we dont even realize that we are in autopilot mode, it takes us awhile to figure out that we havent been there quite long enough. Because the autopilot mode is usually so ingrained, you don’t realize you are in autopilot mode until you are about to make a decision you dont want to make. We all have those times where we feel so stressed out that we don’t even notice we are in autopilot mode.
The problem with our autopilot mode is that we don’t realize that we are in autopilot mode. You would think that with all the technological advances that we have made, we would have learned by now that we do not control everything in our lives. But that is not always the case. The fact is, we think so much about the things we dont know that we lose the ability to actually think, and that is when we end up in autopilot mode.
I think my favorite part is when george gershwin tells us that we just need to learn to enjoy the moments that we do control. It’s like we need to learn how to love the moments that we do control, and by all means, we should. This is important because we need to learn to enjoy the moments that we do control.
But its important to remember that there are moments in life we dont control. We are not the boss of our own lives, so how we look at those moments is the only thing that really matters. We need to remember that we have the ability to control our own lives and to focus on enjoying the moments that we do control. It just takes practice. And one of the most important practices you can learn is to learn to focus on enjoying the things that are in your control.
One of the biggest things we can do to control our lives is to learn to appreciate the moments that are in our control. These moments aren’t always what you think they are and they may come in the form of bad things happening, but they don’t have to. These moments aren’t always something terrible waiting to happen. They are moments that you can enjoy. That’s what really matters.
