Just as a person has two motives for any activity, two motives might exist for our thoughts and behaviors. The first, which is called the driving motive, is the impulse that drives us forward. The second, which is called the willing motive, is the impulse that we carry to help us achieve a goal.
I think the two motives are actually the same thing. We want to do things because we want to, or because we have to. The driving motive is what we’re doing, or what we want to do, and the willing motive is what we’re doing to help us achieve our goals.

It means that the most you can do is to get the most out of what you have. The result can be great, but the goal is still there. This is especially important. We are motivated to do something because we want to, or because we have to.

In the case of this man, he decided to do murder because he felt he had a “higher calling” and that he was helping people in a “higher cause.” I suspect that he had been struggling with his own identity for most of his life, but in one of those rare instances where he truly believed in his heart that he was on the right path, he decided to commit the act for the sheer joy of it.
If you think that the guy youre thinking of committing murder because of a movie is the same as someone who committed murder because they felt that they had a higher cause, then you are in for a very hard time. The problem is that there are two different types of people in the world: those who have a high reason and those who have a low reason. The person who decides to do something because of a movie has a low reason.
