What I’m talking about is the “self-aware” category. This means that we are aware of our thoughts, actions, and emotions but have not been consciously aware of anything else.
For example, if you’re on a plane and the person sitting next to you (who doesn’t seem to be aware of you, despite the fact that you’ve been staring at them the whole trip) starts to talk about their vacation or their plans, you can start to feel a bit uncomfortable, even though you’re not aware of it. We call this the SELF-AWARENESS category.
